JAPAN’S FIRST 100% RECYCLED ALUMINIUM

RECYCLED LOW-CARBON ALUMINLUM

PremiAL R100 by LIXIL HOUSING TECHNOLOGY, under the TOSTEM brand, is Japan’s pioneering low-carbon aluminium building material made entirely from recycled aluminium. This innovative product contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and lessening the environmental impact of buildings.

What is PremiAL R100?

PremiAL R100 is a circular, low-carbon aluminium profile developed using 100% recycled aluminium material without the use of new aluminium ingots. Leveraging nearly 30 years of aluminium recycling expertise, LIXIL successfully mass-produced 6063 aluminium billets entirely from recycled sources, enabling large-scale production of sustainable building materials.

Key Sustainability Benefits

100% recycled aluminium content

  • Up to 80% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared with conventional aluminium profiles made from virgin ingots
  • Recycling aluminium requires approximately 97% less energy than producing new aluminium from raw ore
  • Helps reduce the embodied carbon footprint of buildings
  • Supports green building certifications and ESG initiatives

Certified Environmental Performance

PremiAL R100 has received third-party environmental verification through the SuMPO EPD (formerly EcoLeaf Environmental Label), which evaluates environmental impact across the product lifecycle, including:

  • Raw material sourcing
  • Transportation
  • Manufacturing processes

The certified CO₂ emissions for PremiAL R100 are approximately 2.9 kg CO₂ per 1 kg of aluminium profile, representing a major reduction compared to conventional aluminium products.
